Strides for Pride is a one-week challenge to log 40 minutes of activity per day — running! walking! biking! swimming! dancing! — in support of LGBTQ+ youth overcoming homelessness at Covenant House.
Join us from June 23rd - 30th, 2023
How It Works
It is our top priority that all youth experiencing homelessness feel welcome and safe at Covenant House, and that all are received with absolute respect and unconditional love. Throughout Pride Month we’ll be raising awareness and funds for LGBTQ+ youth served by Covenant House. From June 23-30, we’ll make Strides for Pride by moving together for 40 minutes a day in recognition that 40% of all young people facing homelessness in the United States identify as LGBTQ+
Why 40 minutes?
Because 40% of all young people facing homelessness in the United States identify as LGBTQ+. In fact, LGBTQ+ youth are more than twice as likely to experience homelessness as their non-LGBTQ+ peers.
When you sign up, you’ll receive a personal or team fundraising page that connects to your fitness tracker. As you log your activities, you’ll follow the journeys of our LGBTQ+ youth, unlocking new stories each day.
How does it help?
As part of the challenge, we ask you to set a goal of raising $120 for Covenant House to raise awareness and provide support for LGBTQ+ youth who are 120% more likely to experience homelessness than their non-LGBTQ+ peers.
The funds you raise go directly to providing food, shelter, clothing, healthcare, education, legal aid, and loving care to youth overcoming homelessness at Covenant Houses across the U.S., Latin America, and Canada.
Who can join?
Anyone, anywhere! Run, walk, bike, swim, dance, play a sport — anything to get yourself moving for 40 minutes each day. Track your activities and share your progress on your personal fundraising page with friends and family, and connect with a national community online.
